4.  Raphael Holinshed, The Chronicles of England

The second edition of Holinshed's Chronicles which contains the description of the events up to 1586. Unlike the first, this edition lacks woodcut illustrations to the text. A tradition of medieval MS illustration can still be seen in a large woodcut historiated initial depicting an astronomer[1].
